Grumpy!!

Grumpy-Cat-NO-2

I am in such a crabby funk today. Ugh. I think it’s probably due to the change in time and my sleep being off.ย SO. In an effort to change my mood, I’m going to share a few positive things from yesterday and today:

  • I caught up with some former co-workers and made plans to do so again soon.
  • I was able to attend the funeral for a former co-worker (my first boss!) and while I was certainly sad that she is no longer a part of our lives, I was glad to be able to participate in this ritual. It was a beautiful service.
  • I talked to my grandmother on the phone and had a nice chat. She is almost 90 and while she won’t use a computer herself, she loves seeing pictures that my sisters and I post to facebook or text to my mom and aunt (her daughters).
  • I made a meal plan and am set to get back on track with my cooking after a weekend of eating out.
  • I painted my nails and have resisted chipping the polish off (terrible habit I have). I don’t usually paint my nails, but I am trying to break a bad habit of picking at my nails and the skin around them when I am anxious (so…right now, as mid-terms approach…it’s amazing I have fingertips at all).
  • I saw a really big, really beautiful red-headed woodpecker while I was walking on campus today. It flew off before I could take a picture, but it was really lovely to see.
  • My husband was giving out extra hugs to help make my bad mood go away. ๐Ÿ™‚

  1. Hey Laura. Sorry to hear you’re feeling a bit down, but you sure listed a lit of reasons to smile! I had to giggle at your nail polish chipping because my daughter has a little bottle of kiddie nail polish and she asks me all the time to paint her nails. Then within an hour of drying she already has all the polish chipped off and there are bits of hot pink here and there around the house that I have to vacuum up. I just told her the other day that I think it takes me longer to put it on her than it does for her to take it off. haha.
I’m sorry to hear about your coworker passing away. I think it’s nice that you were able to catch up with your former coworkers.
I hope the rest of your week starts to look up for ya. Sending lots of ((Hugs)) your way!! ๐Ÿ™‚

    1. Thanks Dawn! I can totally relate to your daughter . ๐Ÿ™‚ Although I have been very good this time around.

  2. Hope your evening is improving. Maybe an early night with a good book is just what you need. (I know I always hit a mid semester slump.).

    1. Hi Shara, you were totally right. A bath and a good book helped restore my good mood. And now that it is spring break, I can take a breath. Mid-semester is rough!

    1. Thanks Traycee! I am feeling much better now that spring break is here. ๐Ÿ™‚

  3. It’s wonderful how noting what you are grateful for can really change the course of a day. It also helps when our significant others are handing out extra hugs ๐Ÿ™‚

  4. I am grumpy too. My day is out of synch and will be probably until I adapt to the time change__and quit sneezing.

    1. Yes, I think the time change and then the stress of mid-terms came as a double whammy. Plus those darn allergies! They always sneak up on me!

  5. Sorry you are feeling grumpy, but glad you are getting extra hugs to help deal with it and good of you to focus on the positive things. Hope the grumps go away soon!

    1. Thanks Bless! I am feeling so much better now that this week is over — it was a little stressful with mid-terms and school projects. But now we’re at spring break — phew! ๐Ÿ˜‰

  6. I had a few grumpy days this week too! Combination of time change and snowstorm. Focusing on some positives helped to get me out of my mood. Spring is almost here!!

    1. You are right — spring IS almost here and I do love the extra evening light, but man, that hour lost is a bummer. Thanks for the encouragement.
