Baking Day

pb cookies

Today is a baking day. I made a tray of peanut butter cookies (I make the dough up and then bake cookies over a few days to keep us from totally pigging out), have two loaves of bread in the oven and am going to prep some granola to throw in the oven once the bread is finished. Baking days and food prep days make me feel extremely accomplished, since the fruit of my labor is very visible. And who feels sad about a fresh loaf of bread?!

  1. Yum yum yum! I can actually bake the cookies at once and not touch them (unlike my locust-like kids who will devour them) but if I bake bread, I’m guaranteed to eat at least half of it on my own… and that’s if I refrain myself from eating the whole darn thing!

You were busy in the kitchen, I’ll bet it smelled really good all day long 🙂

    1. I can totally relate to devouring bread — I’m working on my self control. Also, I’ve been making whole wheat bread which is yummy and we definitely both have a couple pieces still warm out of the oven. But I don’t have the desire to gorge on it in the same way I do for other breads.

The whole house still smells yummy!!
