Last weekend I posted my meal plan for the rest of January. My list of meals isn’t assigned to any particular day, although I do take time to think about how many quick and easy meals I’ll need, or if Michael is cooking or whatever. For posterity, I thought I’d make a little list here of what we actually ate and, if they were new recipes, how they went over. I tried to remember to snap photos during the week. I won’t be winning any prizes for my food photography, but there is at least a bit of a record.
Sunday 1/10 — Potato Soup, Garlic Bread
Monday 1/11 — Tofu & Peppers Stir-Fry, Jasmine Rice
Tuesday 1/12 — Pizza Margherita, Celery & Cucumber Sticks, Dip (not pictured)
Wednesday 1/13 — Linguine with Fresh Tomato Sauce, Green Salad, Garlic Toast
Thursday 1/14 — Crock Pot Pot Roast (this photo doesn’t do the meal justice — it was very good!)
Friday 1/15 — Asian Style Turkey Meatballs w/Sesame Ginger Dipping Sauce, Peanut Noodle Salad, Sesame Coleslaw, Orange Slices, Aunt Max’s Cherry Cheesecake (not pictured)
This was a very good week, food-wise. Everything tasted great and came together pretty easily. Friday was the most complicated, although I prepped everything ahead of time since I had to work and wouldn’t have much time to cook before people started arriving for book club. Everyone at book club really liked the food and I was pretty happy, too. I hadn’t made the meatballs before and they were amazing. Kudos and thanks to my sister for the recipe! Aunt Max’s Cherry Cheesecake is a family recipe and I was excited to see it so well received by my friends. I may make it again for an upcoming work function and take some photos so I can post the recipe at that time.
